HUMCP is a developmentally appropriate preschool.  We do a lot of learning through fun, playful, hands-on activities that connect to the real world.  How does this differ from other preschools?  Continue reading to find out!

Developmentally Appropriate Practice

Being in a developmentally appropriate preschool means that your child's teachers will spend time learning about your child's interests and needs. Children's skills are assessed and then built upon to ensure new learning. Your child's likes and dislikes are taken into account when activities are planned to motivate your child to learn. It also means that activites are planned around how preschoolers think and develop. Learning is connected to real events in the real world, on the calendar, in nature, and in each child's life. Learning is not a rote series of drill and practice, or memorization.
